Fractured Immortal The Bearwood Series Book 1 edition by EL Wicker Paranormal Romance eBooks
I purchased this book the day it was released with plans of it being my holiday read and I was not disappointed. For a debut novel, the author has done a wonderful job with a story that grabs your interest from the very beginning and keeps it until the last page. Great plot, continuous character development, well defined interpersonal relationships, and plenty of action with amazing fight scenes that were written like a seasoned writer.Fractured Immortal is the first of a series and as anticipated, it ended with a cliff hanger. A testament to a good story, it had me immediately wanting to know what happens next which is all I could ask for as a reader.
A disclaimer: I know the author although we have never physically met (there is this ocean that separates us). I started to read what I believe was a final edited copy of the book in Word format about a month before its release. I quickly read six chapters and wanted more but I am not one of those readers who can read on a computer. I paused because I wanted the reading experience to be as it was intended to be so I anxiously awaited its release. I’m glad I did. I am proud to have Emma Wicker as a friend and am extremely impressed and proud of her as a writer. What an amazing first effort!
I am looking forward to the next book in The Bearwood Series!

Fractured Immortal The Bearwood Series Book 1 edition by EL Wicker Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
"I will love you until the end of time. I promise."
Wow!! That is my exact thought ending this book. I am speechless. Fractured Immortal is the debut writing of E.L.Wicker. It is a paranormal's haven. Filled with vampires, shape shifters, and witches, it takes us on a fast-paced journey that is filled with surprises.
"I want you. I keep coming back for you."
Told in past and present from both first and third person points of view, Fractured Immortal presented a very unique story in characters and elements. E. L. Wicker's writing style was beautifully descriptive. She painted pictures with her words that caused the story to come to life in unimaginable ways. The characters were remarkable. The emotional moments in the story made me feel shock, sorrow, joy, hope, and pleasure. When I read about Julia Mallory Rose, I lost all composure. For those that need a sampling of shmexy to get you through, although it was not throughout the entire book, when it arrived, there was exploding sizzle and heat. This was a great beginning to The Bearwood Series. Now off to book two.
"I love you to the depths of my soul."
This book one, of a must read series, is a new adult book I read for Kyle’s Fiction Addictions. Normally I shy away from this genre, but this was excellent. A romance novel with a vampire twist set in the Appalachian Mountains. The author has a way with words especially when she describes the setting and the characters. It is so very vivid without being over wordy. The action packed drama is about a girl returning to her home town after being away for a very long time in search of the character Sol, the villain to extracted revenge. The characters have complex emotions, especially Ilia, the main character, and Kyle, the producer of many of her most angry and depressed moments. Ilia is such a tragic figure, who has experienced such devastating loss, no wonder she can be moody and brooding. This is one of those books that make this reader sad it was over. I love the end. It makes me eager to read the next book in the series to find out what adventures await. This is an author who possesses the talent of engaging the reader on every page. This book does have some sexual situations and violence, but also has strong female characters and is about friends who each having the talents needed to work as a team to solve problems. There is a message, though very subtle - kudos to the author for not being preachy in any way. I give this five stars.
E.L. Wicker makes a spectacular splash into the world of paranormal romance with her debut novel, Fractured Immortal.
Wicker's attention to small detail pulls you in and allows the reader to clearly envision each scene as it unfolds. Her description of each site, sound and smell illustrates the surroundings in a way that makes you feel as if you were truly there. Her characters are complex and yet believably normal in the way they interact with one another. As a romance junkie and without giving away any spoilers, I must admit, at one point in the book, I wasn't at all happy with how the romantic storyline was going, but then it all comes together perfectly and you can't imagine it any other way.
With vampires, witches and shifters, there is array of concrete characters that pulls this action packed story together completely immersing you until the very end where a cliffhanger leaves you dying to know more.
I loved it and cannot wait for the next book in The Bearwood Searies.
Ilia is a kickass vampire wanting revenge on the one vampire that ruined her life. She doesn't care if she isn't strong enough to defeat Sol. She's willing to die just to get her chance. But over the centuries, her search ends up empty.
Although she has been looking for the enemy, she has been trying to avoid another. Kyle was Ilia's first love, but they have a painful history that's hard to get past. I found Kyle a little immature and sometimes annoying, but he had a lot of good qualities.
When she finally goes to her home town, she is surrounded by her loving friends that all share her feelings. They also discover that Sol is looking for something in their town, and he isn't under the radar anymore. The war is on, but Ilia feels something for a vampire on the wrong side. There's something about Nathaniel, and Ilia has a strong connection with him.
The love triangle between the characters was okay. I like feeling torn, but Kyle wasn't my favorite to begin with so I was heavily leaning towards Nathaniel. I really liked most of the characters and the plot, but the writing style took some things away for me. Other than that, this really was a home run, and I can't wait to read the next book!
