I really enjoyed this story, even though it was geared toward a much younger age group than me. (I'm an old lady.) The writing style was somewhat simplistic, and for most of the book I thought they were going for a "G" rating, but a little bit of swearing and sex talk swung it barely onto the "PG13" side of the fence. The characters were nicely developed: the good ones were very likable and the creepy ones filled their role very well.My favorite line(s):
"It's no use lying to me, just stop lying to yourself. You only hate him because you can't love him."
"That's crazy!"
"No, it's the truth. So get over him, or get under him."
One thing that tended to annoy me was how juvenile the characters acted. There was no way it was believable that these were supposed to be college kids. Much more like high school age, or maybe even junior high at times. But still, the story was sweet, and an easy and fast read Definitely worth the time and resources I put into it :)
A little bonus at the end of the book: If you go to her website link listed at at the end of the book, There is a supposed interview with Zack two years after the end of the book. It is a cute little post Epilogue finish to the story.

The Unofficial Zack Warren Fan Club The Unofficial Series Book 1 eBook JC Isabella Reviews
The cover leaves a lot to be desired, but since I read this on my kindle I didn't have to look at it. As soon as I started reading I was really engrossed in the story. There's a small plot twist in the beginning that blew my mind and really made me want to keep reading.
Chloe is a really likable protagonist. She's really laid back and has a great sense of humor. The conversations that she had with Zack were really funny and interesting. The author really has a knack for writing dialogue, because the chemistry between the main couple was awesome.
There were a few typos in this book, but they didn't really detract from the story at all. And it was really cool how the story was set in college, because you don't see that in a lot of YA fiction. My only negative comment is that I would have liked to see some of the side characters developed more.
My Rating 5 stars
Who Would I recommend this to? Fans of YA, sports, forbidden love
I enjoyed this book. I would have given it 5 stars except for a few things
Potential spoiler
The last 1/4 of the book felt rushed. Chloe made a big deal about the club and Zack finding out but it was pretty anti-climatic and rather dramatic because the build up was there then boom then it was done. It could have played out differently. Zack made a big deal about it because of how other women only want him for his potential money making but that was really never discussed in the book so seemed thrown in there. Especially since Chloe and Zack were close and talked about a lot of things.
I also felt like this book left a lot of questions. It could have ended differently or a sequel could be written to kind of let everyone knows what happens to their relationship and give some closure.
Other than that I thought it was a cute book and an easy read.
The Unofficial Zack Warren Fan Club is a lot different than what I was expecting. Zack and Chloe have had a long history together, and now they will have to live together because their parents just got married. Zack is now Chloe's stepbrother, oh what joy, NOT! Chloe and Zack both act like they can not stand each other, and they have lived their lives annoying each other, or ignoring each. So now that they will live together when they come home from college they decide to "get along" for the parents happiness. But all good things tend to come to an end don't they. Chloe and Zack both start feeling things they've always seemed to feel for each other, but now they are allowing those feelings to show because they are tired of trying to hide it. The whole stepbrother thing is a tiny bit weird to me, but I can get over that it is defiantly a unique story. Chloe also doesn't want Zack to find out about the fan club she started when she was in elementary school because she had a crush on Zack. This story was really funny at times, and other times I thought the character's were going to drive me nuts because they just couldn't admit how they felt. I give this book a four out of five stars. I highly recommend it, it is cute, fun, and very unique!
I am a sucker for romance stories! I must confess I didn't really hold out high hopes for this story, but to my delight it was a nice easy read!
The plot could do with some work (maybe a little bit more work), there is alot more potential for character development.
Inspite of that, the author has a nice smoothe way of letting the story evolve, that keeps the story from lulling and making your eyes glaze over!
Essentially the story is about a boy who lost his mother in a tragic car accident and became afraid of having strong feelings for another person, especially young Baker who really sets his heart racing! He starts acting out becoming the residential bad boy. When he sees the disappointment in Chloe's face he reforms and channels his rage etc into karate and other forms of fighting.
The author wants us to know that Baker is the sweet, good naturedly innocent who secretly loves him but outwardly hates him. ( Her character could have done with more work).Chloe starts a fan club for Zach when she is younger and some other girls join it. Her friend Lana is in college and won't let the fan club dies but actively recruits people to join. ( I find this a little far fetched the way the author portrays it)
Then there is the villain Max, who plays with women for fun and has his eyes set on Baker and ofcourse Zach is not having that. The development of this aspect of the plot is a bit weak but no one is going to die from weak plot development ( at least not in this book).
All in all, if you are like me and love sappy romance novels where the girl can barely breathe because the boy is so near and the guy doesn't notice the world is falling down around him because she looks into his eyes, then this is a good read )
